Sopranos Returns Tonight, Wonder Woman Casting News, More..

Not a whole lot going on right now in terms of movie or TV scoops, but I’m going to be away for job training from Monday morning until Wednesday night, so I’m going to do my best to give you guys an extra-big Easter Sunday Link Dump to tide you over. Break out the Cadbury Creme-Eggs and let’s get to it!

First up Nadia Bjorlin, the Jasmine Bleeth/Carmen Electra lookalike from the new movie Redline, may be in the running to play Wonder Woman. She certainly wouldn’t have trouble filling out that red and gold brassiere, that’s for sure. However, my vote goes for Joss Whedon’s original choice, Cobie Smulders from How I Met Your Mother. Rrrowwrr!

Wonder Woman?

Here’s two new preview clips from Heroes, which returns on April 23. There’s a pretty big spoiler about one of the characters in the first clip, so be wary.

The first trailer for Rob Zombie’s Halloween remake:

Check out this God-awful new poster for Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Damn, this thing is Community College Intro to Photoshop bad.

Sin City the TV series?

Shrek 3 isn’t even out yet, but everybody knows it’s going to make a gazillion bucks, so Shrek 4 is already in production as is a half-hour TV Christmas special called…wait for it…Shrek the Halls. You may now groan openly.

Laura Dern says her character is in Jurassic Park 4 and she may return to the role. In a related story, I clipped my toenails one time and a piece of toenail shot into my eye. Wait, those two stories aren’t related at all. The only thing they have in common is that you probably don’t give a shit about either one.

Finally, don’t forget the final 9 episodes of The Sopranos begin tonight on HBO (9PM EST). Here’s an awesome video montage of all the significant deaths that have occurred on the show since the first season.

Hot Chloe Pics & More In Your Sunday Link Dump

Check out this sexy photoshoot of 24’s Mary-Lynn Rajskub for Geek Monthly magazine. As a fan of Mr. Show, I find these pictures very weird. Hot, but weird.

Robert Downey Jr. locks lips with Gweneth Paltrow in these pics from the Iron Man set. These pictures are actually pretty boring, but if your sexual fetish is seeing Gweneth Paltrow in a bad strawberry-blonde wig, you just struck gold my friends.

A bunch of Sin City sequel news, including the possibility of Johnny Depp signing on for a third film, which would adapt the last Sin City story, “To Hell And Back”. Having Depp in a Sin City movie would be awesome, but “To Hell And Back” would be difficult to translate to the screen since the main character experiences weird hallucinations of various comic book superheroes for a hefty part of the story.

Here’s two new Transformers TV spots that attempt to make the movie look halfway decent, and actually sorta succeed. Starscream transforming is sweeeeeeet!

New trailer for Pirates of the Carribean: At World’s End. The crazy undead monkey’s back, and Kiera Knightly still needs to eat a freakin’ sammich. That’s all I really have to say about this.

From the makers of the Lego Star Wars video games comes Lego Batman!

Finally, R2-D2 mailboxes in New York City! Anyone want to bet on how long it’s going to take for some geek to try and put a restraining bolt on one of them?

Sunday Link Dump

The new Rachel Dawes

Maggie Gyllenhaal will replace Tom Cruise’s latest Scientology slave actress Katie Holmes as D.A. Rachel Dawes in the Batman Begins sequel The Dark Knight. In other Dark Knight news, Aaron Eckhart (Thank You For Smoking, The Black Dahlia) has joined the cast as Harvey Dent A.K.A. Two-Face, and at some point in the film, Batman will get a new costume.

Earlier this week, Variety reported Shia LaBeouf was in final talks to play the son of Indiana Jones in the upcoming sequel. LaBeouf later denied these reports, but certainly not because Lucas and Spielberg threatened to castrate him and blacklist him from Hollywood if he spoke about the project any further. Noooo. The untitled Indiana Jones 4 is due for release on Memorial Day weekend, 2008.

Eddie Van Halen entered rehab this week. This Van Halen reunion just keeps getting better and better! I wonder how long it took for Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony to drive by the place and laugh hysterically? No word yet on if Eddie tried to get with Britney Spears during his treatment.

Jeff Bridges’ character in Iron Man is revealed. No, it’s not “The Dude”.

300 annihilated the box office competition this weekend, taking in a whopping $70 million.

Finally, The folks behind The Simpsons Movie are having a contest to hold the premiere of the film in one of the 16 real Springfields in the United States. I live in a town bordering Springfield, Massachusetts, so it would be fantastic to win this thing, but I’m sure we’ll screw it up somehow.

Despite fears of full frontal backlash, Daniel Radcliffe signs on to complete the Harry Potter film saga.

Robert Downey Jr. is a Metal Head (and I don’t mean Iron) A pic from the set of Iron Man. (Thanks to the Madfrog).

Bernie Mac dishes on his role in Transformers.

Snippets from an L.A. Times interview with Joss Whedon, where he discusses future Buffy TV movies, Wonder Woman, and Firefly.

Tim Kring, creator of Heroes, says Season 2 will feature a totally different story with new characters.

Finally, Velvet Revolver will play Van Halen tunes and speak on behalf of the band at the upcoming Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame inductions. Weak.
