Maggie Gyllenhaal will replace
Tom Cruise’s latest Scientology slave actress Katie Holmes as D.A. Rachel Dawes in the Batman Begins sequel The Dark Knight. In other Dark Knight news, Aaron Eckhart (Thank You For Smoking, The Black Dahlia) has joined the cast as Harvey Dent A.K.A. Two-Face, and at some point in the film, Batman will get a new costume.
Earlier this week, Variety reported Shia LaBeouf was in final talks to play the son of Indiana Jones in the upcoming sequel. LaBeouf later denied these reports, but certainly not because Lucas and Spielberg threatened to castrate him and blacklist him from Hollywood if he spoke about the project any further. Noooo. The untitled Indiana Jones 4 is due for release on Memorial Day weekend, 2008.
Eddie Van Halen entered rehab this week. This Van Halen reunion just keeps getting better and better! I wonder how long it took for Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony to drive by the place and laugh hysterically? No word yet on if Eddie tried to get with Britney Spears during his treatment.
